Brown rice porridge with carrot flowers. Steamed cod with ginger and wolfberries.
I like to add wolfberries to dishes and soup because they are highly renowned in Chinese cuisine to have remarkable nutritional values. They are thought to be able to boost the immune system, nourish the liver and kidneys and improve vision. It also has antioxidant qualities. How super!
Wolfberries, when boiled or steamed for too long will taste sour, so add them in after the heat is turned off. The wolfberries will taste very sweet.
For this dish of steamed codfish, I washed the dried wolfberries and soaked it for about 5min. When cod is nearly cooked, I added the wolfberries on top and cover lid to continue steaming for another 5min.
