JJ Studio #2 in Myeongdong

When I was looking up for places to stay in Korea, I came across the website Airbnb. These are private houses or rooms that owners rent out to travellers. Pictures of these rooms/houses shown are so interesting and each is uniquely decorated, unlike hotel rooms which are more or less pretty similar no matter which country you are in. Prices are reasonable too and many are conveniently located near places of interest or subway stations. Only con, I'd say is the lack of house-keeping... I mean.. who wants to house keep when on hols? lol

Anyway, after looking through the options, I settled on a cosy looking apartment run by brothers Jackson & JaeHoon. This turned out to be a great choice. Upon confirmation of booking, they responded very quickly with instruction on how to get to their apartment. Their english is good so no problem of miscommunication.

Our host, Jae Hoon, was so nice. The day when we were checking-in, the cab journey took longer then estimated as it was raining. When we reached the apartment building, we saw him waiting for us with umbrellas! He said he didn't wait long but we didn't think so. Felt so bad that he waited for us in that cold cold weather.

He's such a friendly nice chap and it reflects upon his place. Simple studio but very nicely decorated. Well furnished and equipped. We can tell that he has put in some thoughts to what to include in the room, going just that extra mile to make his visitors' stay more pleasant. Examples such as coffee-table that can be transformed into a table for TV dinners, other then just a hair blower, he included a hair straightener for the ladies! 好贴心噢 and there were instant coffee powder and traditional Korean snack. If I have to nitpick, only issue would be there are no water glass/mug for use when teeth brushing... and the clock was not working.

The room looks out to Myeongdong St. To the other direction, it's a min walk to Chungmuro Station. From the window, we can also see N-seoul Tower to the left.

Fridge came in handy to store the kimchi we wanna bring back to Singapore.

This washer gave me and hubby quite a good laugh. It's a washer and dryer, something we don't use at home as we have ample sunshine to dry our clothing. We were so glad to have a washer to wash our clothing for the last few days of our trip that we threw in all our dirty clothing, only to realised after, the heat from the dryer must have shrunk some of the clothing and socks. Fortunately, they are stretchable so we could still wear them but we got more careful after this incident of what we throw into the washer.

Coffee and snack. We love these mini honey Yakgwa.

Jae Hoon's so called transformer coffee table that transforms into a TV dinner table.

Keep Calm... I tell the time only twice a day.

Hot water with good pressure. And we love that the host provides decent shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and facial wash.

This controls the floor heating system to warm the room. Life-saver.

Bathroom slippers... don't really match the whole decor theme but... aren't they so cute?

During our stay, Jae Hoon was also quick to respond when we asked about the location of a restaurant we were trying to locate. He replied with map and direction on how to get there. The service is priceless. The accommodation is good for 3 pax but I'd say its more comfortable for 2 as with just the 2 of us, there were hardly any space left for walking when we have both big luggages spread on the floor.  Will we stay here again if we return? Definitely.
